I'm a resident. Can I bring my own load?

Yes. SUVSWD is a Public & commercial facility. We accept public/residential drop-offs.

Do loads need to be covered and secured?

Yes. All loads must be covered & secure before entering the facility. Unsecured loads are subject to a $25 fee. Utah’s law, 72-7-410. Public landfill litter abatement fine, is to prevent litter on county roads.

How much does it cost to dump a standard pickup truck load?

View Fees here for standard pickup trucks and SUVs with covered loads. Uncovered loads are charged a $25 fee, so please ensure your load is secured with a tarp or straps.

Do you accept mattresses and refrigerators?

Yes, we accept mattresses and refrigerators as ‘Special Handling’ items. One mattress is included in the min. dump fee. Each one after is $20/unit. Fridges are additional $15/unit. View all fees here.

Where can I dispose of paint and hazardous household chemicals?

Paint, motor oil, antifreeze, and other household hazardous waste (HHW) can be dropped off at no additional cost by residents at our HHW facility. 5 gal/chemical/day Limits apply. Please do not mix chemicals. Learn more here.

Is recycling free at the South Utah Valley Solid Waste District?

Recycling is not free. Fees apply depending on residency and load type. Please refer to our Fee Schedule for current pricing. We encourage you to bring sorted recycling items to the Transfer Station. Learn More >

Do you take green waste like tree limbs and grass clippings?

Yes, green waste is accepted. It is mixed and compacted with other trash. It is charged at the standard load rate.

What items are prohibited from the transfer station?

We strictly prohibit asbestos and biohazardous material. Ammunition is restricted and requires prior arrangement. Please call (801) 489-3027 for specific guidance on restricted items.
